Music Appreciation
A school that sings is a happy school! Opportunities for singing, dancing, beating in time, playing musical instruments, including some unusual ones from a variety of cultures, and moving to rhythms are part of our daily life.
We are very lucky to have the amazing Charlie Hannah, our specialist music teacher, who comes in to work with the children on Monday mornings – he also audio records the children singing each term, and we then send this home to families for you to all enjoy singing together!
As well as singing traditional nursery rhymes, we also have a vast selection of bespoke written songs, which aid the children’s learning and knowledge across all topics.
-
Yoga
Our qualified children’s yoga teacher Kathy hosts these sessions once weekly on Tuesday mornings, creatively following our topics and learning themes, incorporating them into the yoga poses and movement stories.
In addition to the emotional benefits of working on self-expression and mindfulness, yoga for children offers physical benefits too! These regular classes promote flexibility, balance, strength, coordination, and posture. Additionally, it improves body awareness and helps children to focus their attention on the present moment and each part of their body.

Art and Craft
We integrate opportunities for children to create and express themselves through arts and crafts throughout their day-to-day activities. Art resources are accessible and available in our free-flow nursery environment.
What’s more, our qualified Montessori and Level 6 teachers provide structured art activities for the children to join in with each Wednesday morning. We cover a wide array of techniques and materials, with emphasis on free expression and the development of creative skills utilising paints, crayons, pastels, clay, collage, and woodwork.
-
Dance and Movement
On Thursday mornings, we have a qualified dance and movement specialist come in to work with children in small groups. With a new story or theme each week, these story-based movement classes are tailored for young learners.
As well as boosting their confidence, cognitive skills and socialisation, dance and movement will help develop and draw out every child’s innate creative, imaginative ability, and overall motor confidence.

Spanish
Estela Collado, one of our full-time members of staff (QTS) comes from Spain so who better to teach your little one another language!
It’s amazing to see what the children learn through songs and games and the benefits of learning a second language are vast - improving memory, boosting creativity, refining attention skills, and much more!
